Saturday 16 and Sunday 17 May has held his baptism of the sea the AICR Italy Sailing Team: composed exclusively of members of the association that brings together the Deputy Directors and Heads of the reception desk for 4 and 5 stars of our country.
The Sailing Team was designed and highly desired by the national president Giorgio Mostarda: "Everything was born from my passion for sailing, which dates back to the days when I served in the Navy. It was a bit 'of years ago , so, I was trying to involve my colleagues in this new exciting experience and finally I managed to put together a crew with great pride and satisfaction on my part and with great pleasure and enjoyment by all participants.
" We were seven associates AICR Italy that took turns for two days on board of the boat of sailing centre Horca Myseria of Rome. "A first approach to the sail for some of them, but a fantastic experience also for those who already had some knowledge of this wonderful world and knows the feelings of the sea ," continues Mostarda. "That's why I want to thank all participants to the race and the sailing centre that has helped in establishing the program in total safety.
A particular thanks goes to Antonio Iaria, skipper-instructor Horca Myseria who led us on this adventure of sailing that besides being a great way to make the team, is also an asset in some ways very similar to that which takes place every day the hotel: even in a boat, in fact, there are someone who directs, someone who acts and someone who.... looks at the stars " But the project AICR Italy sailing team does not end with this first experience.
The idea of the national president is to continue with other races. Starting from next weekend on 20 and 21 June, when the brand new sailing team will challenge in a real match race. "It's a way" Mostarda said , "to make the initiative even more challenging. And I must say that, as the days go by, I get more and more requests for membership to our newborn sailing team.
After all, this is also a way of making and living the association, a place which, in my point of view, should represent both an opportunity for comparison among colleagues to exchange ideas and professional advice, is a friendly place to spend the moments pleasant in the company of friends. "
The long-term goal is to try to involve also the Heads of AICR International, to extend the initiative to other national AICR associations. "In the coming months" concludes Mostarda , "we are planning a cruise of three days between Ventotene and Ponza Islands. While in Ischia, in conjunction with the next national council in late October, is already planned a short cruise on a boat the day before the Assembly.
